It's raining trouble for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) as another MLA has become a victim of a 'sting operation' conducted by a private TV channel.
In the video, AAP's Kirari (west Delhi) MLA Rituraj Jha is seen talking of 'making money from betting and gambling that goes on rampantly in the area' and 'fixing the local SHO and police station by giving them a few lakhs'.
The video, which is going viral on social networking sites, shows Jha speaking to former Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MLA from Kirari, Pushpraj.
Jha laments how the 'money inflow has become very thin' but his colleagues continue to rake the moolah. He reportedly says, "Akhilesh Pati Tripathi (Model Town MLA) has bought a Rs2.5-cr bungalow. Sanjiv Jha (AAP's Burari MLA) is also making money. MLA Rakhi Birla's brother extorts money every day, and BJP's ex-councillor Anil Jha is doing it too."
Jha is also heard saying, "Neeraj Kumar, a former SHO from Nangloi, has resigned to be with us in the business. We will divert the attention of volunteers and workers, who have campaigned against betting and gambling in the area, to developmental works such as roads, sewers and water."
On being quizzed by Mail Today , Jha admitted that the face in the video is his, but said that the audio is morphed. "It's a completely fake video. It is morphed to malign my image. It is my face and I was speaking to Pushpraj. It is a two-year-old event, but I did not say these things. I will seek an investigation into this," he said.
