After Ayushmann Khurrana, Tabu and Radhika Apte starrer Andhadhun, its Sridevi and Nawazuddin Siddiqui's film Mom that's getting cash registers ringing at the China box office. The crime thriller, which released on Friday, May 10, seems to have struck a chord with the Chinese audience as the film is all set to enter the Rs 50 crore club. In fact, it will achieve the milestone today itself. Late superstar Sridevi's last film came out in India in 2017 and turned out to be a commercial success. Directed by Ravi Udyawar, Mom not only performed well at the Indian box office but it also received rave reviews from the critics as well. And now the hit film is enjoying a good run in China. Revealing the updated figures, film trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to the microblogging site Twitter a while back and wrote, "#Mom maintains a strong hold on Day 4 [Mon] in #China... Should cross $ 10 million [+/-] by the end of Week 1, which indicates very good trending... Fri $ 1.68 mn, Sat $ 2.22 mn, Sun $ 2.10 mn, Mon $ 1.02 mn. Total: $ 7.02 million [₹ 49.41 cr]."
A report in Boxofficeindia.com also noted, "Mom held up well in China as it clocked business of around $1 million on Monday with a 33% drop in the collections on Friday. The film has collected almost $7 million so far and probably has a shot at $20 million depending on what happens in the second week. It should cross the business of films like Toilet Ek Prem Katha and Baahubali - The Conclusion which are around the $14m and $12m mark respectively."
