Modi-Xi Summit in Mamallapuram Live: On the first day of the summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi dressed in traditional veshti welcomed Chinese President Xi Jinping in Mamallapuram. PM Modi then took Chinese President Xi for a guided tour of the ancient town where they visited Panch Rathas, Krishna's Butter Ball, five chariots, Shore temple, Arjuna’s Penance and a group of monuments.
After visiting the historical monuments, Prime Minister Modi and President Xi Jinping attended a cultural performance by Kalakshetra at Shore Temple in Mamallapuram. They also had a free-wheeling one-on-one conversation during their time at the ancient site. MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar in a tweet said: "The free-flowing nature of the Informal Summit at the UNESCO World Heritage site will continue and deepen contacts at the highest level and guide the future trajectory of India-China relationship."
