'Modi magic' double-locks defeated Uttar Pradesh MLAs out of their official residences

The steel locks - made in the western Uttar Pradesh town of Aligarh, famous for its lock industry - were found hanging outside the doors of the MLA quarters in Lucknow being vacated by the members of the outgoing state Assembly.

In a brutal sprinkling of salt over still-fresh wounds, the locks on the official residences of the defeated Uttar Pradesh legislators vacating their bungalows belonged to a brand called 'Modi magic' and claimed to have 'double-locking' features. The steel locks - made in the western Uttar Pradesh town of Aligarh, famous for its lock industry - were found hanging outside the doors of the MLA quarters in Lucknow being vacated by the members of the outgoing state Assembly. Pictures provided by news agency ANI showed MLA and former minister Ravidas Mehrotra vacating his official residence after losing the election, in which the BJP won a landslide 312 seats. The new Uttar Pradesh government is expected to be installed on Sunday.
