The body of a six-year-old girl, who went missing in Bengaluru last week, was found in her neighbour’s home at Veerabhadranagar on Sunday, reported The Hindu.

Police report that Harshita, the daughter of Shivakumar and Saraswathi, went missing on 20 April and a missing person’s report was filed the next day.

A foul stench started emanating from the neighbouring house of a person named Anil, and the police were alerted by the locality.

Girinagar police reached the spot and broke the door open to find the girl’s body in a cardboard box. Hailing from Kalaburagi, Anil was working in a private firm and had been absconding.

The postmortem of the body will reveal the cause of death.
