Ministry of Home Affairs chairs a high level review meeting after violent protests in Delhi

A high-level meeting is now being chaired by the Ministry of Home Affairs in order to review the security situation in Delhi. This after different incidents of violence have been reported from parts of the National Capital. The farmers' tractor rally turned ugly and despite the farmers' union reiterating that the tractor rally will be a peaceful protest, the protesting farmers entered Red Fort and vandalized public property. Delhi Police since morning has been trying to persuade the farmers to go back to the border areas after the rally took a violent turn and the protestors reached Red Fort to remove the tricolor flag. The meet is currently underway and a decision on the ground situation will likely come out soon.
