Guwahati July 27: Mihika Yadav of Maharashtra annexed double crowns in the OIL-AITA Super Series Tennis Championship that concluded at the All Assam Tennis Association complex here today.
Yadav won both under-14 and under-16 girls' singles titles. She lifted the under-14 crown beating top seed Sruta K. Gunaganti of Andhra Pradesh 6-4, 6-3 and the under-16 title by getting the better of Tamil Nadu's R. Abinika 6-1, 6-1 in the final.
Yadav, however, missed the third title in under-16 girls' doubles going down to the tandem of Karman Kaur of Delhi and Gunaganti who won it 6-2, 6-4.
In the under-14 girls' doubles, Maharashtra girls Swara Kulkarni and Shivani Ingle lifted the trophy beating Aarja Chakravarty of Uttar Pradesh and Jennifer Luikham of Haryana 4-1, 4-2 in the final.
Assam lad Parikshit Somani, in tandem with Sidharth Basnet of Sikkim, lifted the under-14 boys' doubles title beating the pair of Utkarsh Bharadwaj of Uttarakhand and Rohit Kumar of Haryana 6-3, 6-2.
Bengal boy Nitin Sinha won the under-14 boys' singles title defeating Paramveer Singh Bajwa of Chandigarh 6-2, 6-4 in the final.
P.V. Ghana Bhaskar of Andhra Pradesh won the under-16 boys' singles title beating second seed Dhruv Pal of Uttarakhand 7-5, 6-2.
Karnataka tandem of S.D. Prajawl Dev and B.R. Nikshep won the under-16 boys' doubles crown beating Assam boys Arkashish M. Talukdar and Amlanjyoti Baruah 6-2, 6-3.
TT meet: The Dibrugarh District Sports Association will organise the Assam Table Tennis Association's 18th Gokul Saikia Major State Ranking Table Tennis Championship at Dibrugarh indoor stadium from August 10 to 12.
About 400 paddlers and technical officials will participate in the 11-event tournament.
Jeet Kune-Do: The Jeet Kune-Do Association of Assam is going to organise the 2nd All Assam Jeet Kune Do Championship at the Rudra Singha sports complex here on August 13. It will be preceeded by a referee and judges' seminar on August 12.
