MHA advises states to focus on a five-fold strategy as number of Covid-19 cases decrease

On Tuesday, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs issued instructions to all state governments and union territory administrations, urging them to concentrate on the five-point approach for effective Covid-19 management. According to the home ministry warning, the process of loosening limitations in the country as cases fall, signaling the end of the second wave, should be properly managed. Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla outlined some key points to focus on as the unlocking process gets underway, urging states to regularly monitor districts with a high number of active coronavirus cases per million (10 lakh) population as an important indicator of the need for upgrading health infrastructure and logistics, allowing for early and prompt action.
