This is not the first time that VHP has taken to moral policing and harassment when it comes to interfaith couples. Earlier this month, the VHP’s campaign to spread 'awareness' in West Bengal schools and colleges also created a stir.

The VHP had published a list of 'dos and don'ts' for girls and the communal brochure also warned Hindu girls against getting lured by Muslim boys. The group further announced that in order to spread the 'ills of love jihad', it will launch a campaign in several schools and colleges in the coming days.

Earlier this year, a Muslim man was beaten up outside the Marriage registrar office in Ghaziabad by a group of people allegedly because he went there to marry a Hindu girl.
