Meerut-Lucknow Rajya Rani Express (22454) derailed near Rampur in Uttar Pradesh

Eight coaches of the Meerut-Lucknow Rajya Rani Express (22454) derailed near Rampur in Uttar Pradesh at 8:15 am on Saturday, April 15. Fifteen people suffered minor injuries in the accident, and no casualties were reported. A medical team reached the spot.

The Indian Railways issued a list of helpline numbers for those seeking information.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced a compensation of Rs 50,000 each for the gravely injured and Rs 25,000 each for those who have suffered minor injuries. Indian Railways have also announced compensation of Rs 50,000 to each of the injured.

The stranded passengers have left for their destination, and service along the Rampur line has been restored.

On March 30, eight coaches of the Jabalpur-Nizamuddin Mahakaushal Express had got derailed near Mahoba in Uttar Pradesh. Around 40 passengers on board the Delhi-bound train were injured.
