MDMK leader Vaiko protests demanding justice for Sri Lankan Tamils

A group of workers from the Marumalarchi Daravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) Party, along with their chief Vaiko, protested and demanded from the Indian Government to raise the issue of Sri Lankan Tamils at the 34th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHCRC). Carrying placards, the protestors raised slogans at the protest held in Valluvar Kottam. They also urged the Government to oppose the draft resolution put forward by Sri Lanka at the UNHRC Council recently. In the resolution, Sri Lanka requested UN to fully implement the measures identified in HRC Resolution 30/1 that remain outstanding.
