Chandigarh, Apr 30 (PTI) Maximum temperatures today hovered a few notches below normal in several parts of Punjab and Haryana because of overnight rain.
Union Territory Chandigarh recorded a maximum of 35.2 degrees Celsius, two notches below normal, the met department report said here. The city received rainfall of 2 mm.
In Haryana, Ambala registered a high of 36 degrees Celsius, one degree below normal, while Hisar’s maximum was 37 degrees Celsius, four notches below normal.
In Punjab, Amritsar recorded a high of 36.3 degrees Celsius while Ludhiana and Patiala recorded their maximums at 34.6 and 36.2 respectively, up to three degrees below normal.
Amritsar and Patiala received rainfall of 2 mm and 8.6 mm respectively.
The meteorological department has predicted thundershowers at isolated places in the two states in the next 24 hours.
