Maritzburg United release Bokang Tlhone, Yazid Atouba and Motsie Matima

The Team of Choice mentor was influential in the side's fight for safety and has been duly rewarded

Maritzburg United have parted ways with three of their players in Bokang Tlhone, Yazid Atouba and Motsie Matima. 

The Team of Choice recently terminated the contract of Andrea Fileccia after making several signings during the January transfer window. 

In a statement released by the club on Monday, the three players were thanked for their contribution over the years. 

The Pietermaritzburg-based side also revealed that any further transfer-related news will be made public on their official website and social media platforms. 

Maritzburg United have parted ways with three first-team players, the club confirmed on Monday - Yazid Atouba, Bokang Tlhone and Motsie Matima have all been released from their contracts.

The Club would like to sincerely thank Bokang, Yazid and Motsie for their service and for the commitment they showed to the team. We wish them all the very best for the future.

Atouba, who was born in Cameroon, joined the Team of Choice in 2017 from AS Vita Club, but he leaves the club having managed 22 appearances in all competitions. 

Tlhone was also signed in 2017 from Bidvest Wits, and he made just 18 appearances for the Team of Choice. 

Matima, 23, is a versatile player who can play both in defence and midfield. He featured 16 times in the last two seasons.
