Maratha Kranti Morcha staged protest at office of Collector in Bandra, demanding reservation for the community. Women also took part in the 'Aakrosh Andolan'. "It's been 2 months till the Supreme Court's order on Maratha reservation. We request that schools and colleges should start admission process, if it will be contempt of court then let it be, at least don't close the door of education," said a protester. "We are fighting for our rights from last 40 -50 years. Over 50 people gave their lives for it," the protester added. In September, the Supreme Court stayed implementation of the 2018 Maratha quota law of the state and had referred the petitions to a larger constitutional bench. However, after that the Maharashtra government had filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking vacation of its stay on the reservation to the people of the Maratha community in education and jobs in the state.
