Almost six months ago, in a long-awaited victory, Manushi Chhillar was crowned Miss World 2017.
The beauty queen has since then been touring around the world, taking up social causes--as part of the Beauty with a Purpose tour--and looking splendid while at it.
Apart from her breathtaking beauty and stellar sense of style, if there's one thing she stands out for, it is her concern regarding issues like menstrual hygiene in rural areas.
Recently, the diva was in Brasilia, where she attended the Gala Charity Dinner thrown by APAE, an organisation that works towards the welfare of children suffering from Down Syndrome.
For the uninitiated, Down Syndrome is a genetic disorder that causes physical and mental abnormalities.
Manushi attended the event along with Miss World Brazil 2017, Mr World Brazil 2018 and Miss Brasilia 2018.
The young diva didn't just attend the event, but also gave a successful presentation on behalf of APAE to the Governor Of the Federal District Of Brasilia, Rollemberg.
According to Miss World organisation's official social media account, Manushi stated, "I wanted to highlight the fantastic work we had seen at the center and ask the Governor to help APAE build a new 3rd floor, so that all the children with Down Syndrome in the state could be helped."
The President of APAE told Manushi, "You are a remarkable woma,n and we celebrate this great news with you, thanks to your intervention, we will more than double the number of special needs students that we can care for.''
Apart from the presentation, Manushi even walked the ramp with one of the students suffering from Down Syndrome.
Manushi, just as always, looked graceful on the ramp, and so did her companion, who looked overjoyed.
For the ramp walk, she wore a blue gown by a Brazilian designer, which will also be auctioned by APAE to raise money for the needy.
While we're just so proud of Manushi's impactful tour, the 20-year-old has already begun preparing for her leprosy awareness campaign.
