Manchester United XI vs Tranmere Rovers: Predicted lineup, team news and injury list for FA Cup tie

James Robson

Victor Lindelof is available for Manchester United’s FA Cup fourth round tie at Tranmere Rovers, while Eric Bailly could make his first appearance of the season.

Lindelof has recovered from illness to be back in contention for Sunday’s clash, which has sparked fears over the state of the pitch at Prenton Park.

With United already in the midst of an injury crisis, with Marcus Rashford, Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay all out, Solskjaer will want to avoid the risk of further casualties.

But he says he has no fears of throwing Bailly straight back into action after missing five months with knee ligament damage.

“Eric has had a couple of behind closed doors games here,” said Solskjaer. “The pitch is not great, but that’s the same for both of us and the players just have to be focused, ready, there are divots everywhere.

“This generation coming through with astro turf and nice pitches get lazier in their heads. Eric is one of the team who’s probably more prepared for a game for that pitch.

“Everyone’s just got to be focused both for injuries, but also of course the bounce of the ball.”

Solskjaer added: “Victor has recovered so he’s well again. Let’s see how well he feels today and tomorrow and apart from that no one has got any knocks that’s anything to think about.”

Manchester United predicted lineup (4-2-3-1): Romero; Wan-Bissaka, Bailly, Lindelof, Shaw; Fred, Pereira; Mata, Lingard, James; Greenwood
