Jodhpur, Apr 7 (PTI) Police arrested a man today for killing his wife and burying her on an empty plot beside their home.
The body was exhumed by the police and was sent for the post mortem.
ACP Bhopal Singh Lakhawat said that Kaluram (45) and his wife Bhanwari Devi (40) had been living in Jajiwal Bishnoian village along Jodhpur-Jaipur highway.

On the information, when the police contacted her parents at Badnor, they came to Jodhpur and suspected Kaluram who had beaten his wife on multiple occasions.
“Later we inspected their house and found a corner of the house with loose sand, which further strengthened the suspicion of his in-laws and the police,” the officer said.
“On Friday morning, we dug the spot in the presence of the SDM on suspicion of the parents of the victim and found the body of Bhanwari Devi buried about 2-3 feet below the surface, which had almost decomposed,” said Lakhawat.
Kaluram was immediately detained by the police and arrested in the evening after he admitted to have to killed his wife by strangulating her.
