Makers release an inspiring video of the Evolution of Poorna
Makers release an inspiring 'Evolution of Poorna' video, which showcases the journey of the film and of the actress who plays the role of Poorna, Aditi Inamdar.
We see the real Poorna Malavath talking about how she feels she is an "ordinary girl" and how Rahul Bose thinks her courage and determination is extraordinary.
It took Rahul a lot of effort to find the perfect girl who would be playing the character of Poorna, someone who he wanted should look like a climber, whose focus should reflect in her eyes. Rahul wanted someone who has emotional intelligence, vulnerability and determination, and out of 500 tribal girls, 109 were shortlisted and finally Aditi Inamdar was chosen to play Poorna.
The video also shows a rather cute interaction between the reel and real Poorna, where Aditi tells her how excited she is to play her character, even though she admits it is a huge challenge. It was endearing to watch Poorna teach a few tricks to help Aditi learn rock climbing.
When the real Poorna was asked how she felt after knowing she had made a world record, she says how she was completely unaware of it and she felt like she was in heaven! She feels men and women are equal and says, "Ladki bhi karegi, I proved it."
The video also highlights the bond between Praveen Kumar (Rahul Bose's character) and Poorna. He acts as a guide and a mentor to her and one of the dialogues is particularly moving when Rahul Bose says, "Aaj se duniya mujhe tumhari wajah se jaanegi."
The video ends with Rahul Bose highlighting how Aditi brings out the soul and spirit of Poorna in the film. The trailer and song, "Kuch Parbat Hilaayein" have received positive response from people for its inspiring content, and they are awaiting the film's release to watch the courageous journey of the youngest girl to climb Mount Everest, against all odds.
Directed by Rahul Bose, Produced by Rahul Bose Productions, Raay Media Pvt Ltd and Co-produced by Amit Patni, 'Poorna' is slated to release on 31 March 2017.
