I am pappu for you, but that doesn't anger me: Rahul Gandhi to PM Modi
In his speech during the no-confidence motion against the Modi government in the Lok Sabha, Congress president Rahul Gandhi said he may be a 'pappu' for the BJP, but he isn't angry about it.
"Aapke andar mere liye nafrat hai, gussa hai. Main aapke liye Pappu ho sakta hun, par phir bhi mere mann main aapke liye bilkul gussa nahi [You have anger and hatred against me. I may be a pappu for you. But despite this, I do not hold any anger against the prime minister]," he said.
Taking a dig at the BJP, and PM Modi in particular, he said during the short break in the House, BJP MPs walked up to him and told him that he is making a good speech.
"During the break when I went inside, your [BJP] members held my hand and congratulated me saying I am making a good speech in the House."
Following this, Rahul Gandhi walked across the aisle and hugged Prime Minister Narendra Modi amid noisy scenes in the House.
Aap logon ke andar mere liye nafrat hai, aap mujhe Pappu aur bohot gaaliyan dekar bula sakte hain, lekin mere andar aapke liye nafrat nahi hai: Rahul Gandhi. He then walks up to PM Modi and gives him a hug #NoConfidenceMotion pic.twitter.com/w5DqyR7mVuANI (@ANI) July 20, 2018
Earlier he said that people may think that he is angry against the BJP and the prime minister. "I must say that I don't hold any anger against you. I am thankful to you to teach me the meaning of being an Indian, being a Hindu and being a human being."
