Mahindra TUV300 Plus officially launched for Rs 9.69 lakh

The TUV300 Plus is basically a longer version of the TUV300 which is sub-4 metre compact SUV.

Indian passenger and commercial vehicle manufacturer, Mahindra has finally launched the TUV300 Plus officially in India. The TUV300 has been launched in just a single variant called P4 and is priced at Rs 9.69 lakh, ex-showroom. The seven-seater SUV has been on sale unofficially in many states in India for the past 6 months.

The TUV300 Plus is basically a longer version of the TUV300 which is sub-4 metre compact SUV. The TUV300 Plus gets most of its body panels from the standard TUV300, but also gets a different form of rear styling.

Since the TUV300 Plus is available in only a single P4 variant, the TUV300 Plus is powered by a bigger 2.2-litre diesel churning out 120bhp which Mahindra calls the Mahindra mHawk120. The engine generates 280Nm of torque. The powertrain is mated to a six-speed manual, instead of a five-speed gearbox found in the standard TUV300. Given the basic nature, the TUV300 Plus P4 comes shod with 215/70 R16 tyres with steel rims. It also gets a 60-litre fuel tank and weighs 2,410kgs. The TUV300 Plus also gets Mahindra's Micro-Hybrid tech for fuel savings.

The TUV300 is longer than the standard TUV300 by 401mm, which brings the final length of the Plus variant at 4,400mm. The TUV300 Plus is 1,835mm in width and comes with a 2,680mm in wheelbase, which interestingly is the same as the sub-4 metre compact TUV300 standard SUV.

The interiors of the TUV300 is as bleak as the exterior. Equipment levels are scarce as the TUV300 gets vinyl-seat upholstery, all-black interiors, a nine-seater configuration with fold-up side-facing third-row seats, power steering with tilt-function, power windows on the front and rear, central locking, AC with heater function, internally-adjustable ORVMs, and two 12V charging sockets. The TUV300 Plus comes with four exterior paint-shade options.

In terms of safety, the TUV300 Plus gets nothing major, not even ABS or driver airbag. But the SUV does get an engine immobiliser, child locks, and side-intrusion beams.

The TUV300 Plus has been launched in just one single P4 variant, however, in a report by Autocar India, there are two more variants slated to be launched in the future.

The TUV300 Plus has been priced at Rs 9.46 lakh in Tamil Nadu, Rs 9.72 lakh in Jharkhand, and Rs 9.55 lakh in Gandhinagar area. The prices are ex-showroom.
