Mahindra Alturas G4 receives 1,000 bookings since launch in November 2018

Mahindra and Mahindra said in a regulatory filing that the expected cumulative volume from the three new launches -- Marazzo, Alturas G4 and XUV300 -- is in the range of 9,000 per month.

Automobile major Mahindra & Mahindra has received 1,000 bookings for Alturas G4 as of now. The premium SUV was launched in November 2018 and competes with the likes of Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour.

During the company's announcement of the financial results for the quarter ending December 31, 2018, Mahindra and Mahindra's Managing Director Pawan Goenka said that the firm has received 1,000 bookings for Alturas G4 so far.

The company also said in a regulatory filing that the expected cumulative volume from the three new launches -- Marazzo, Alturas G4 and XUV300 -- is in the range of 9,000 per month. Besides, Marazzo has performed exceptionally well and as per the current demand, it has a waiting period is of 3-4 weeks.

Sold as SsangYong Rexton G4 in South Korea, Alturas G4 is powered by a 2.2-litre diesel motor churning out 178 bhp of power and 420 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a Mercedes-Benz sourced seven-speed automatic transmission.

On the outside, the SUV sports twin chamber HID headlamps with dual function DRLs, auto-foldable ORVMs with turn indicators, LED fog lamps with cornering lamps, 45.72-cm diamond cut alloy wheels and premium chrome window surrounds.

Inside the cabin, Alturas G4 welcomes one with its dual tone interiors, quilted Nappa leather upholstery, ergonomic seat design, dual zone fully automatic temperature control, memory profile for driver seat and ORVM, eight-way adjustable driver seat, electric sunroof and ventilated front seats.

Additionally, the SUV gets features like 3D around view camera, 20.32-cm hi-tech touchscreen infotainment with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, smart powered tailgate, steering mounted controls and 17.78-cm TFT LCD cluster.

Making safety a prime concern, Mahindra & Mahindra has installed nine airbags in Alturas G4. Also, there is ESP (Electronic Stability Program), hill descent control, ultra-high strength quad frame structure and electronic parking brake with auto hold.

The SUV comes in with both two-wheel and four-wheel drive options. While the former is priced at Rs 26.95 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the latter costs Rs 29.95 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
