Maharashtra minister confronted for ducking responsibility; blames Centre for lack of funds

Maharashtra State Minister Aslam Sheikh was confronted for ducking his responsibility and blaming the central government. Earlier, a building collapsed, claiming 11 lives, including 8 children. He is accused of ignorance toward warning and putting innocent lives at risk. As per sources, several letters were written to the state government, Maha Aghadi, BMC, collector etc., between 2017-2020 concerning the non-authorised structure, but there was no action taken. The State Minister’s take on this was blaming the Central government for not providing sufficient funds, despite the growing need for buildings and housing in Mumbai, Maharashtra. In addition, he very casually stated that it’s not in his hand, and if the state and Centre fail to provide financial support, incidents like these might continue to happen. #MumbaiDeathTrap
