Maharashtra Minister Chhagan Bhujbal tests positive for COVID-19

Minister Chhagan Bhujbal of Maharashtra Food and Civil Supplies said he tested positive for coronavirus on Monday. Mr Bhujbal is the seventh minister to be infected this month with the novel coronavirus. In a Twitter post, Mr Bhujbal said that his health was okay.

Anil Deshmukh, Rajendra Shingne, Jayant Patil, Rajesh Tope, Satej Patil and Bachchu Kadu, Maharashtra ministers, tested positive for the disease earlier this month. Of late, there was an increase in the state's COVID-19 incidents. On Sunday, Maharashtra registered 6,971 new cases of coronavirus, raising the infection tally for the state to 21,00,884.
