The cabinet sub-committee on-farm laws have been formed in the state of Maharashtra. The committee was initially formed a couple of months ago but it had no meetings and faced a lot of criticism. When the Shiv Sena and the NCP came out protesting against the centre’s farm laws and supporting the farmers in Delhi, there were questions asked with respect to their meetings. Today marks the first meeting of the cabinet sub-committee and they will try to assess whether or not Maharashtra needs to implement the new farm laws, or if they need to get in a new law for the state’s farmer unions, or if they need to pass a resolution stating that the law will not be implemented.
