Maha: Man surrenders after stabbing wife to death over affair

Thane, Nov 5 (PTI) A 50-year-old man was arrested after he walked into a police station with a bloodied knife that he had used to allegedly kill his wife in Bhiwandi town of Maharashtra's Thane district, police said on Thursday.

Ansar Nagar resident Mohammed Rafique Mohammad Yunus walked into the police station after killing his 38-year-old wife on Wednesday night, senior inspector Mamta D'Souza of Shanti Nagar police station said.

According to the police, the accused was concerned and ashamed after his wife's affair with another man went viral on social media.

The accused allegedly attacked his wife at her sister's house at Nagaon road, killing her on the spot, the official said.

A case has been registered against the accused under section 302 (murder) of the IPC and further probe is under way, it was stated. PTI COR ARU ARU
