Maha adds 3,959 new COVID-19 cases; 150 die, 6,748 recover

(Eds: Adding details) Mumbai, Nov 5 (PTI) Maharashtra on Saturday reported 3,959 fresh COVID-19 cases, taking the total count to 17,14,273, state health department said.

With 150 fatalities, the cumulative toll in the state climbed to 45,115.

A total of 6,748 patients were discharged in the day, taking the tally of recoveries to 15,69,090, a health official said, adding that the number of active cases decreased from 1 lakh to 99,151.

The state has so far conducted 93,78,531 tests.

Mumbai reported 576 new infections in the day and 23 fatalities. With this, the cumulative case tally in the city rose to 2,63,049, while the death toll mounted to 10,422, the official added.

Mumbai division, which consists of Mumbai city and its satellite towns, reported 1,148 new cases, raising the total count to 5,94,259. A total of 18,002 people have died so far in the region, the official said.

The number of cases in Pune division stood at 4,32,363 and deaths at 10,074, he said.

Nashik division's cumulative case tally stood at 2,30,106 and the count of fatalities at 4,347, he said.

Kolhapur division has reported 1,10,161 cases and 3,841 deaths until now, while Aurangabad division's case count is 64,167 and death toll 1,597.

Latur division has reported 70,587 cases so far with 2,137 fatalities.

Akola division has 53,993 cases while 1,291 people have succumbed to the viral infection so far.

Nagpur division has 1,56,411 infections and 3,675 fatalities, the official informed.
