(Eds: Adding details) Mumbai, Oct 6 (PTI) Maharashtra's COVID-19 tally reached 14,65,911 on Tuesday with a single-day addition of 12,258 fresh cases, state health department said.
With 370 deaths, the total toll went up to 38,717 in the state, it said.
A total of 17,141 patients were discharged after treatment in the day, taking the cumulative tally of recoveries to 11,79,726, the department said, adding that the state is now left with 2,47,023 active cases.
Mumbai added 1,625 new cases, taking its count to 2,17,113, while the death toll rose to 9,202 with 47 fatalities in the day.
The Mumbai division, which consists of Mumbai city and its satellite towns, reported 3,540 new cases, raising the tally to 5,06,123, a health official said, adding that 16,464 people have died so far in the region.
Pune city added 674 fresh infections, taking its tally to 1,61,130, while 17 deaths took the overall toll to 3,649, the official said.
The number of cases in the Pune division stood at 3,84,960 and deaths at 8,387, while the Nashik division's cumulative case tally mounted to 1,96,311 and fatalities to 3,848, he said.
The Kolhapur division's case tally stands at 98,949 and the fatality count at 3,080, while the number of cases in Aurangabad division rose to 55,136 with 1,403 deaths.
The Latur division's case tally is 60,351 with 1,665 fatalities.
The number of cases in the Akola division now stands at 45,316 while 1,016 people have succumbed to the infection until now, the official said.
Nagpur division has 1,17,081 infections with 2,706 fatalities, he added.
A total of 22,38,351 people are currently under home quarantine in the state while 25,828 others are placed in institutional quarantine, he added.
The state has so far conducted 72,41,376 tests.
