Madhya Pradesh: Satna Mayor Mamta Pandey Reprimands Commissioner, Says Don’t Teach me Discipline, I am Postgraduate; Watch Video

The video shows Pandey and Pal sitting next to each other, while the former vents out her anger and announces her degrees.

Bhopal, Nov 18: Satna mayor Mamta Pandey reprimanded Commissioner Pratibha Pal at a meeting when the latter asked Pandey to maintain discipline. The mayor while hitting back at the Commissioner also listed out her educational degrees and said Pal should not cross her limits.

The video which went viral in social media, shows both Pandey and Pal sitting next to each other, while the former vents out her anger and announces her education qualification, as the Commissioner, embarrassed at the conduct of the civic body head, smiles and continues directing her officials to move on.

According to news website Nayi Duniya, Pandey and Pal were at a lottery event held by the Municipal Corporation to allocate houses to 270 beneficiaries under the government’s Integrated Housing and Slum Development Programme  (IHSDP).

Reportedly, the event was delayed by half an hour than its scheduled time and when councilor Bhagwati Pandey questioned the allocation process, the tussle began between the mayor and the commissioner.

The video shows Pandey saying, “I am postgraduate, okay? LLB. Do you understand? Do not tell me to mind my language. You pay attention to your language. Okay? I am postgraduate. Okay? Do not teach me discipline. Do not try to teach me repeatedly. You might have a degree and here you are teaching me discipline. Stay in your limits while talking to me from now onwards.”

Surprisingly, Commissioner Pal seems less bothered at the shower of degree validation the mayor does on her and more concerned about other people around her, to whom she keeps talking to continuously during Pandey’s rant.

There have been many instances of clashes between civil servants and politicians and although the high drama is fun to watch, it brings into question the sense of cooperation between different bodies of the government.
