Days after BJP MLA from Indore Akash Vijayvargiya thrashed a Municipal Corporation officer with a cricket bat, houses 52 and 53 on Nagar Nigam road in the city’s Ganji Compound, which have been at the epicentre of a national controversy, were demolished on Friday.

This house was declared a public safety hazard by the IMC and was scheduled to be demolished on June 26, when MLA Akash Vijayvargiya assaulted an IMC official with a bat. Vijayvargiya had alleged that the officials had misbehaved with women and the one remaining tenant family in the building.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had strongly disapproved of Akash Vijayvargiya’s conduct after videos of him assaulting a municipal officer with a cricket bat went viral.

In his first remarks after PM’s reaction, father of the BJP MLA from Indore and party general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya Thursday said the BJP should initiate action against his son because the party is everything and Modi is their supreme leader .
