Politics has started over the expulsion of BSF constable Tej Bahadur Yadav whose video on a social networking site about poor quality food allegedly being served to security personnel deployed on the Line of Control went viral. A day after his expulsion by the BSF, the Madhya Pradesh Congress has announced that it will felicitate Yadav in Bhopal.
Madhya Pradesh Congress president Arun Yadav used social networking site Twitter to announce the party's intention to facilitate Yadav.
Congress spokesman on Thursday confirmed to India Today that the party was going ahead with the felicitation of Yadav.
"The Congress party is felicitating him. Even if he worked for the armed forces he has the right to express himself. The BSF in the name of discipline has treated Yadav in an inhuman manner. We are deciding about the programme, but it will be a grand one for sure," KK Mishra said. The ruling Bhartiya Janata Party, however, has termed the Congress plan to facilitate Yadav as cheap politics.
"The Congress is trying to play cheap politics. We should stay away from playing politics in the name of the armed forces and as far as Yadav's case is concerned this is an internal matter of the BSF," BJP spokesman SR Hitesh Vajpayee said.
The BSF while expelling Yadav had termed his action of taking his grievance in the public domain as gross indiscipline.
