New Zealand's ace pacer Trent Boult handed his side a terrific victory against Bangladesh in the first ODI of the three-match series on Saturday.

Boult was at his usual best, exploiting the conditions to perfection.

The premier left-arm pacer claimed four wickets as Bangladesh folded for 131.

In reply, New Zealand won by eight wickets.

Boult got two early wickets in the form of Tamim Iqbal and Soumya Sarkar to leave Bangladesh reeling at 19/2.

His straight ball that angled into Tamim hit the latter's pads to be adjudged lbw.

Two deliveries later, he got Sarkar with a short ball.

He came back later to get the last two Bangladesh wickets with a cutter and the knuckle ball.

Fact: Boult registers this unique record

As per Opta, Boult's figures of 4/27 for the Blackcaps on Saturday against Bangladesh marked his third haul of 4+ wickets in the format at University Oval; no other player has achieved the feat more than once at the Dunedin venue.

ODIs: Boult has claimed 168 career ODI scalps at 24.85

Boult has racked up 168 wickets in 91 ODI matches at an average of 24.85.

He is the seventh-highest wicket-taker for New Zealand in ODIs.

He has now taken eight four-wicket hauls, besides having five fifers as well with a best of 7/34.

Out of his 168 scalps, 115 have come at home.

He averages 20.92 with all of his five-wicket hauls coming here.

Fact: Boult's record versus Bangladesh

In nine matches against the Tigers, Boult has 17 wickets to his name at 21.76. His 4/27 is now his best performance against Bangladesh in ODIs. This was his maiden four-wicket haul against Bangladesh. Notably, 14 out of the 17 scalps have come at home.
