Locals protest outside SDM office over killing of dalit man in Punjab's Sangrur

A dalit man died after being brutally beaten in Punjab's Sangrur district earlier this month. Jagmail Singh was tied to a pillar and beaten by four men and later died in a hospital in Chandigarh. Several locals and organisations protested outside the Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) office in Sangrur district over the incident on November 16. They demanded action against culprits in the related case. While speaking to ANI, Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission member, Punam Kangra said, "I have taken cognisance but there have been no arrests yet. We will take action against erring cops too."
