Meghalaya Assembly Election 2018 Results Live Updates: BJP Lagging Behind, Congress Leads

Counting for assembly elections in Meghalaya will begin at 8 am and the Meghalaya Assembly Election 2018 Results will be declared in the evening.

Lucknow, Nov 22: The campaign for the first phase of Uttar Pradesh civic polls will come to an end on Monday. The polling will be on November 22. Polling will be held to elect representatives for five municipalities and 230 civic bodies in 24 districts.

The voters will get slips from Tuesday for the polls. In the first phase, civic bodies of Shamli, Meerut, Hapur, Bijnore, Badayun, Hathras, Kasganj, Agra, Kanpur, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Chitrakoot, Kaushambi, Pratapgarh, Hardoi, Amethi, Faizabad, Gonda, Basti, Gorakhpur, Azamgarh, Ghazipur and Sonbhadra districts will go to polls on November 22.

Five municipalities of Meerut, Agra, Kanpur, Faizabad and Gorakhpur and 71 nagar palika parishad, 154 nagar panchayats– which means 4095 wards and 230 bodies will got to polls on November 22.

For the polls, 3731 polling centers and 11683 booths have been made for the polling. Around 1,09,26,972 voters– 58,43,850 men and 50,83,122 women– will cast their votes. 56 mayoral candidates and 3856 candidates for councilor posts are in the fray. Out of these, 23 Mayoral candidates are women and 1430 women are contesting the councilor posts.

For 71 nagar palika parishad chairmen elections, 901 candidates are in the fray. Out of this, 534 are men and 367 are women. As many as 652 civic bodies in 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh will go to polls in November. Polling will be held in three phases on November 22, 26 and 29. Counting is expected to be held on December 1.
