On Sunday evening, Adityanath takes charge as the new chief minister of the state.
Several BJP supporters were seen celebrating after Adityanath took office.
Former UP chief minister Akhilesh Yadav and father and Samajwadi Party Mulayam Singh Yadav were also present at the swearing in ceremony.

Former cricketer Mohsin Raza, sworn in as Minister of State, is the only Muslim representative in the new UP cabinet.
Raza is not a member of the state assembly. He is a spokesman of the BJP.
Former BSP leader Swami Prasad Maurya and Rita Bahugana Joshi have been sworn in as Cabinet ministers in the newly-formed Uttar Pradesh cabinet. Other notable names include Surya Pratap Shahi, Suresh Khanna, Satish Mahana and Rajesh Agarwal. Anil Rajbhar and Swati Singh take oath as Ministers of State (Independent) in UP government.
Governor Ram Naik also administered the oath to Dara Singh Chauhan, Dharmpal Singh, S P Singh Baghel, Satyadev Pachauri, Ramapati Shastri, Jay Pratap Singh, Om Prakash Rajbhar, Brajesh Pathak and Laxmi Narayan Chaudhary as cabinet ministers of the Uttar Pradesh government.
Former Indian cricketer Chetan Chauhan was sworn in as a Cabinet Minister in the newly-formed Uttar Pradesh government in Lucknow. Shrikant Sharma, Rajendra Pratap Singh, Siddharth Nath Singh, Mukut Bihari Verma, Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi and Ashutosh Tandon also took their oath as Cabinet Ministers.
Anupama Jaiswal, Suresh Rana, Upendra Tiwari, Mahendra Singh, Swatantra Dev Singh, Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary and Dharam Singh Saini were sworn in as Minister of State (Independent).

Senior leader of the BJP, Murli Manohar Joshi adds that he expects ‘sabka saath and sabka vikaas’ from Adityanath: “He has deep roots in helping the poor and needy ones in purvanchal.”
Speaking to NDTV, BJP General Secretary Kailash Vijaywargiya and Minority Affairs Minister, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi say that Aditynath will emerge as the “best Chief Minister”, while Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said UP will benefit a lot from his "competent leadership" and will soon become 'Uttam Pradesh'.

Yogi Adityanath will take charge as CM in Lok Bhawan, after the swearing ceremony where Governor Ram Naik will administer the oath of office. It will be followed by a meeting with the ministers. He will hold a press conference thereafter at 5 pm.

I have no issues with Adityanath being chosen as CM. I have been entrusted with the responsibility of Deputy CM. I will work on the law and order situation and will end goon-culture. It’s a big responsibility, will perform to the best of my abilities. I am not upset about CM decision. The party is like my mother; I will do whatever it says. UP is a big state, so must have been a [well] thought decision to appoint two deputy Chief Ministers. The Cabinet has been decided but will be conveyed by the Chief Minister who has the right to do so.

Earlier this morning, Adityanath was seen leaving his VVIP guesthouse in Lucknow for a stop in his constituency, Gorakhpur, ahead of the swearing in. However, soon after he was spotted taking a round of Smriti Upvan where the ceremony will held later today.

Yogi Adityanath will be sworn-in along with his ministers at 2:15 pm today at Lucknow's vast Smriti Upvan near the Ambedkar memorial. Sources say a show of impressive scale is being planned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, party President Amit Shah and several union ministers and CMs on the guest list.

Speaking to the press about the celebrations lined up today by his followers and supporters, Adityanath asks for calm and order:
There should be no chaos in the name of celebrations. Police must deal swiftly and firmly with miscreants.
Following the Chief Minister designate’s orders, all the District Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) have been called to ensure law and order is maintained.
Hardliner Hindutva leader Yogi Adityanath has been elected as the next leader of Uttar Pradesh while Lucknow mayor, Dinesh Sharma and state unit chief, Keshav Prasad Maurya have been elected as the deputy chief ministers of the state.
Adityanath, a five-time Lok Sabha MP from Gorakhpur, was unanimously elected BJP Legislature Party leader at a meeting of the newly-elected MLAs in Lucknow last evening. He, later, met the Governor and staked claim to form the government in the state.
Senior party leader and Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu, who was the central observer at the Legislature Party meeting, said it was a watershed moment for the BJP and it has become a common man's party. He said, the mandate is for development, and against corruption and black money.
In the recently held polls in the state, BJP had bagged 312 seats, and its allies 13, taking the alliance's tally to 325 in the 403-member Assembly. It will be forming the government in UP after 14 years.
