Amid speculation that Congress president Rahul Gandhi has offered to resign following the party's debacle in the Lok Sabha elections 2019, party spokesperson Randeep Surjewala has clarified that the reports are incorrect. He has said that the reports of Rahul Gandhi offering his resignation are incorrect.

The CWC meeting is underway at the AICC headquarters. At the CWC meeting, the party is likely decide on the its future course of action to take on the BJP. The CWC meeting started around 11 am. It will be followed by a briefing by party leaders.

Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Manmohan Singh, several former Congress chief ministers are attending the CWC meet. Meanwhile, BJP, NDA leaders and elected MPs are likely to meet in a parliamentary meeting.

In Hyderabad, YSRCP chief and Andhra Pradesh chief minister-elect Jaganmohan Reddy will stake claim to form the next government at the Governor's house at around 4.30 pm. In Kolkata, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will chair TMC's meeting to review the election results.
