Lionel Messi Wins Ballon d’Or 2019; David Beckham, Ronaldo, Gary Lineker & Others Congratulate the Barcelona Star For Winning it The Sixth Time!

Lionel Messi clinched the Ballon de’ Or 2019 for the sixth time in his career and overtook his arch-rival Cristiano Ronaldo and Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk last night in Paris. Needless to say that the Barcelona star was congratulated by his fans from all over the world. This also included the greats from football fraternity. Former Manchester United player David Beckham, Brazilian great Ronaldo and a few others. Messi attended the ceremony with his family just after scoring 614 goals for the Catalan giants whereas Cristiano Ronaldo skipped the ceremony. Last year it was Luka Modric who won the Ballon de’ Or 2018 breaking the duopoly of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. Now Leo Messi shared the picture of himself with his kids and wife Antonella Roccuzzo with the trophy. The family was obviously very happy with the gong and were all smiles for the snap. Needless to say, the football grates also praised and congratulated Messi for the honour.

After winning the award, Messi said, "I hope to continue for a long time.I realize that I am very lucky, even if, one day, retirement will come. It will be difficult. But I still have a lot of good years ahead of me. Time goes by very quickly, so I want to enjoy football and my family."
