Bollywood's original heartthrob Vinod Khanna, was born on October 06, 1946 at Peshawar, now in Pakistan. This tall and handsome personality, entered into Hindi films as a villain in 1968 with 'Mann ka Meet' and went on to deliver star performances in films like 'Mere Apne', 'Mera Gaon Mera Desh', 'Imtihaan', 'Inkaar', 'Amar Akbar Anthony', 'Lahu ke Do Rang' and 'Dayavaan' to name a few. During his initial days, he was offered only negative and small roles, but in no time, he started bagging lead roles after he got paired with the Shahenshah of Bollywood Amitabh Bachchan and gave hit films like 'Amar Akbar Anthony' and 'Parvarish'. He was known as one of the most sorted stars of his time. After riding high with the success of films, the actor took a break from films in 1982 and joined his guru Osho Rajneesh and gave up films completely. After a five-year sabbatical from work, he again started signing films and gave two back-to-back hits like 'Insaaf' and 'Satyamev Jayate'. After his successful stint in Bollywood, Vinod jumped into politics and became an active politician, and Member of Parliament from Gurdaspur, Punjab. But with that too, the actor did not gave up on his acting skills and gave us some refreshing movies like 'Dabangg', 'Players' and 'Dabangg 2'.
