Li Yuanchao elected Vice President of China

Beijing, March 14 (Xinhua-ANI): Li Yuanchao has been elected as vice president of China on Thursday at the annual session of the country's top legislature.

Li, born in November 1950, is currently a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee.

Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, was elected president of the People's Republic of China (PRC) and chairman of the PRC Central Military Commission (CMC) on Thursday.

The plenary meeting of the first session of the 12th National People's Congress (NPC) also elected Zhang Dejiang chairman of the NPC Standing Committee. (Xinhua-ANI)
