Just days after Samsung launched the S8 in the country, its rival LG has launched its own flagship – the G6 – in India at Rs 51,990 (with exciting cash back offers with Amazon and data offers with JIO).
The G6 says goodbye to LG’s modular design, and sports a very simple form factor, with rounded edges and a mammoth display. It comes with different types of Gorilla Glass protection for the front, back and the camera.
The showstopper on the phone, without a doubt, is its 5.7 inch QUAD HD display that stands at 1440x2880 resolution. Where most smartphones today sport a display aspect ratio of 16:9, the G6 takes it up a notch to 18:9 – a longer display with more to see.
The G6 comes with a Snapdragon 821 chipset couple with 4GB RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage. Although, the 821 chipset is strong, its not the best of what a flagship device should be offering in 2017.
Optics wise, the phone sports a dual 13-megapixel camera setup on the rear, with a 5-megapixel front camera. The imaging unit is accompanied by plenty of modes to play with.
The battery on the G6 is a 3300 mAh non-removable power pack. It also comes with QuickCharge 3.0. The phone is also water/dust resistant.
You also get the LG TONE Active+ headset at 50% off with initial purchase.
The LG G6 is a very safe offering from the company with minimal experimentation and more of simplicity. We will give you a full review of the phone very soon.
