LG G8 ThinQ price leaked ahead of MWC 2019, in India may cost above Rs 60,000
LG is scheduled to unveil its G-series flagship device - the LG G8 ThinQ - at a special event in Barcelona on February 24 ahead of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019. In the past few weeks, a constant stream of rumours and leaks have given us a fair idea as to what all features the phone is likely to sport. And now, days ahead of its launch, the price of the LG G8 ThinQ has leaked on.
According to a leak on Reddit, the LG G8 ThinQ will cost $1199.99 CAD, which roughly translates to Rs 64,300 in India. Now, before you get all worked up about the sky rocketing price of the upcoming G8 ThinQ, it is worth noting that the mentioned price is for the 128GB version of the G8 ThinQ successor. The company, last year, had launched the base variant of the LG G7 ThinQ with 64GB storage for $750, while its 128GB memory variant, the LG G7+ ThinQ, was launched in India at a price of Rs 39,990.
It is possible that the Korean tech giant is planning go stiffen the competition against it is competitors by pricing its upcoming flagship device, the LG G8 ThinQ, on the lines of some of the other premium budget smartphones like the Samsung Note 9. And so, when the device is made available in India, it be priced well over Rs 60,000.
It is worth noting that the listed price for the LG G8 ThinQ is available in the Canadian dollar and so it is quite possible that the company prices its upcoming device differently in different territories.
While the price might be a matter of debate, LG has already confirmed that the G8 ThinQ will come with a time-of-flight (ToF) sensor in the front that will allow users to click better selfies and increase the accuracy of its 3D face recognition technology.
Apart from the front camera, rumours have revealed some interesting details about the LG's upcoming device. The LG G8 ThinQ is likely to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor and run on Android 9.0 Pie. It is expected to ditch the earpiece in the front for the sound-on-display technology. It is also likely to sport a second attachable screen, though details about this feature are scarce at the moment. We will know more about the LG G8 ThinQ when LG finally unveils the device later this month.
