Thane, June 26: The incidences of leopard spottings in Thane city premises continue to grow. This morning, a leopard was spotted taking a morning walk in Manpada region's Butterfly garden. The residents in the nearby areas were scared to step out. The forest officials were called in, but after a while, the leopard walked away. The recently opened butterfly park in the city gets many visitors for a walk. But today morning, a visitor from the wild waited at the park. Seeing more people gathering around the premises, the leopard seemed scared too. The wildlife officials arrived soon and helped those who were coming in for the walk, outside the park and forest rescue officials were called in. A leopard has caused quite a chaos in the city recently when it had entered the famous Korum Mall. The leopard was spotted in the mall's basement and then rescued from the Satkar residency hotel nearby. Crackers were burst to get the leopard out. Thane is surrounded by forests of the Borivali National Park on one of its side so big cats are often spotted in the city premises.
