GAME PREVIEW

Floyd Pinto's Indian Arrows had a good outing against Churchill Brothers last weekend even though they lost the tie 2-1. It could have been a 2-2 draw had Sanjeev Stalin converted his penalty but the performance of the boys was commendable.

Despite conceding 18 times in the league, which is the same as Chennai City FC, it is only certain lapses in concentration which have come to hurt Arrows. Jitendra Singh and Anwar Ali otherwise have a very good understanding at the back. Deepak Tangri has been useful in setpieces and has become integral in a defensive midfield role.

Amarjit Kiyam is the heartbeat in midfield while Ninthoinganba Meitei and Rohit Danu are quite capable of troubling opponents' defences. Having scored half as many they have conceded (9), improved finishing will make the Arrows more competitive.

NEROCA FC Shillong Lajong I-League 2018-19

NEROCA FC currently have 22 points in 14 games and a win on Friday can take them level on points with East Bengal, though the latter have a game in hand. This makes it all the more a must-win game for the NEROCA so as to not depend on results of the teams to keep in touch with the top four.

After suffering back-to-back defeats against Mohun Bagan (1-0) and Churchill Brothers (2-1), the Manipuri outfit are hence winless in their last three fixtures.

With Eduardo Ferreira and Aryn Williams suspended, Fraile will be missing two of their key players when they travel to Odisha.

This would put added pressure on Varney Kallon at the back while the attack consisting of Malemnganba Meitei, Katsumi Yusa, Subhas Singh and Felix Chidi have to be on top of their game.

The addition of Bengaluru FC winger Chencho Gyeltshen will add more bite to the attack though he is unlikely to start.

Can the Indian Arrows make the best of their form or will NEROCA overcome the young guns?
