GAME PREVIEW

Third in the standings with eight points from five matches, Gokulam Kerala will be looking for their third successive win when they take on Churchill Brothers.

Head coach Bino George will be vary of the threat that an in-form Churchill Brothers can pose which was evidenced in their win over Mohun Bagan in their previous game.

With Daniel Addo and Fabricio Ortiz manning the defence, Gokulam have a sturdy feel about them. A safe pair of hands in goal in Shibinraj Kunniyil also re-inforces that. In the attack, Rajesh S has been in good form of late, finding the back of the net in back-to-back games.

The midfield has mostly revolved around Guilherme Batata but there is no shortage of Indian contributors with the likes of Gani Nigam proving to be very effective with a goal and two assists in the last two games.

Mohun Bagan Churchill Brothers I-League 2018-19

Churchill Brothers are just a point above (9) their opponents on Friday from the same number of matches (5) but are seven points adrift of Chennai City (16) who have played a game more.

The Red Machines have been on fire in their last two games where they have scored seven goals. After a 4-2 win over Shillong Lajong, courtesy a Willis Plaza hat-trick, the Goans claimed the prize scalp of Mohun Bagan with a 3-0 win in Kolkata where Plaza notched two. Skipper Dawda Ceesay has also been among the goals.

The Petre Gigiu-led outfit will be look to ride their momentum and also make it three wins in as many matches. However, central defenders Hussein Eldor and Nenad Novakovic will need to be at the top of their game.

Churchill's wide players, Israil Gurung and Lamgoulen Hanshing, are capable of providing good deliveries from the flanks while Richard Costa and Khalid Aucho control the midfield.

Expect it to be an evenly-matched contest. Which side do you think will be able to move closer to the top with a win on Friday?
