The Korean Central News Agency says Chairman Kim Jong Un observed the firing of the weapon on Wednesday, 17 April, by the Academy of Defense Science.

4 Held for Blackmailing Men After Filming Them in Comprising Situations

A woman and a police head constable were among four people arrested from Gautam Buddh Nagar for allegedly extorting money from men after filming them in compromising situations, police said on Wednesday.

The gang has targeted at least four men, two of whom have approached the Dadri police station with complaints of blackmail and extortion, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Vaibhav Krishna said.

Vijay Singh Cheema, 45, a head constable with the Uttar Pradesh Provincial Armed Constabulary, Seema Sirohi (35), her live-in partner Arun Kumar (33) and Greater Noida's Sector 36's RWA president Pushpendra Narayan (32) have been arrested, they said.

24-Year-Old Shot Dead by Unidentified Assailants in Ghaziabad

A 24-year-old man was shot dead by five unknown assailants at Krishna Kunj Colony in Ghaziabad on Wednesday, officials said.

Deputy Inspector General Upendra Agarwal said the deceased, Deepen was at his flat when five youths on two bike reached Deepen's home and shot at him indiscriminately.

Rocket fire on the Libyan capital Tripoli, which the UN-recognised government blamed on military strongman Khalifa Haftar, killed six people ahead of a Security Council meeting on Wednesday over a ceasefire.

Three of the six killed in the rocket fire on the south Tripoli neighbourhoods of Abu Salim and Al-Antisar late on Tuesday were women, said the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, or OCHA.

EU Threatens $12 Bn in Tariffs Over US Boeing Subsidies

The EU on Wednesday, 17 April, unveiled a wide-ranging list of US-made goods, from beeswax to car parts, subject to tariffs in retaliation for subsidies to Boeing as a transatlantic trade war risked re-erupting.

"European companies must be able to compete on fair and equal terms... We must continue to defend a level-playing field for our industry," said EU Trade Commissioner Cecilia Malmstrom in a statement.

In a break with the president, Congress voted for the first time to invoke the War Powers Resolution to try and stop US involvement in a foreign conflict.
