The Biju Janta Dal (BJD) will decide on joining the "mahagathbandhan" of opposition parties later as it needs time to firm up its decision, party president and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said on Tuesday.

Participating in the BJD's sit-in seeking an increase in the minimum support price for paddy, Patnaik alleged that the BJP ignored the demand despite promising it in its manifesto for the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.

Unaccounted Currency Worth Over Rs 1 Cr Seized at Hyderabad Airport

Unaccounted foreign currency to the tune of over Rs one crore was seized from a passenger at the international airport in the early hours of Wednesday, the CISF said.

During screening of baggages, the CISF personnel detected currencies of seven countries from the passenger, who was bound for Dubai, they said adding the total value of the currency was approximately Rs 1.25 crore.

The foreign currency comprised UAE dirhams, Saudi riyals, Kuwaiti Dinars and US dollars.

Gang of Car Thieves Busted in Thane, 8 Arrested

An inter-state gang of car thieves was busted by police in Thane district of Maharashtra and seven people were arrested, an official said Wednesday.

Eight cars collectively valued at Rs 1.2 crore were also seized from their possession, he said.

Two of the accused were scrap dealers.

Delhi High Court agrees to hear Ministry of Defence (MoD) on the arbitration proceedings going on between Agusta Westland & MoD, asks both parties to file their affidavits within five weeks.

Ministry of Defence alleges before the Delhi High Court that there are several criminal proceedings against Agusta Westland, due to which arbitration proceedings cannot be allowed to go on.

The case will be heard next on 28 February.
