Ladakh records 10 new cases of coronavirus while 16 recover

Leh, Jan 11 (PTI) Ladakh reported 10 new cases of coronavirus, pushing the Union Territory's virus caseload to 9,618, while 16 patients recovered from the infection in a day, officials said on Monday.

All the new cases were detected in Leh district during the past 24 hours, taking the district tally to 7,518, they said.

Ladakh has recorded a total of 127 COVID-related deaths with Leh alone accounting for 84. The rest of the 43 deaths had taken place in Kargil district.

With the recovery of 16 more patients, all from Leh, the union territory's active caseload now stands at 197 (190 in Leh district and seven in Kargil district), they said.

A total of 9,294 patients have recovered till date, which is 97 percent of the total cases, the officials said.

Kargil's COVID-19 caseload stands at 2,100, the officials said. PTI TAS AB TIR TIR
