Lack of smartphones hampers online schooling of children in rural Guwahati

Guwahati (Assam), July 3(ANI): While classes shift online due to pandemic, not all children in rural areas are lucky enough to have smartphones. E-learning is not an option for underprivileged in Guwahati’s Pandu area. Speaking to ANI, a resident of Pandu area said, “Due to lockdown, studies are hampered. We are unable to provide them education. Classes are going but our children are unable to attend the class. We don’t have a mobile phone. So from where will we get the expensive mobiles and from where should we teach our children.”
