L Brands reports major bump in May, Possible strike at UPS, Instagram considering longer videos

L Brands (LB), the parent of Victoria’s Secret, says sales jumped 10% in May. However, most of the growth was driven by its Bath and Body Works stores, not the lingerie chain. Just last month, L Brands slashed its full-year outlook in the face of growing competition online.

About 280,000 UPS (UPS) workers are gearing up for a possible strike. More than 90% of Teamsters at the delivery company voted to authorize a strike if they fail to reach a new contract. The company’s current deal with the Teamsters expires at the end of July. Both UPS and the union say the vote does not mean a strike is imminent.

Videos could be getting longer on Facebook’s (FB) Instagram. The Wall Street Journal says the photo and video sharing app could soon launch a new feature that lets you post videos up to an hour long. Right now, videos are limited to one minute or less. It could be part of a Facebook-wide push to distribute paid video content across its services.

The board of Google’s (GOOG) parent Alphabet  will hear a proposal today tying executive pay to diversity. Investing group Zevin Asset Management is behind the idea – and says diversity and inclusion metrics should be included in calculating compensation for execs. Google has faced recent criticism over alleged pay disparities and its affirmative action programs.
