Koo and Google file compliance reports under new IT rules; Facebook expected to follow suit

Google and Koo have submitted their compliance reports in accordance with the new IT rules, which took effect on May 26. Large social media businesses are required to post monthly compliance reports under the new IT law, detailing the facts of complaints received and actions taken. According to Rule 4(d) of the Government of India's Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, social media businesses must file a compliance report every month. Facebook has told the government that it will submit an interim report on July 2 and the full report will be published by July 15.
