Jaipur (Rajasthan) July 20 (ANI): Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot recently inaugurated the 'Mukhya Mantri Kisan Mitra Urja Yojana' and laid the foundation for other development works including Vidyut Bhawan Annexe through video conferencing.Under the scheme, the agricultural consumers will get a grant of Rs 1 thousand per month or maximum Rs 12 thousand per year on electricity rates. On this occasion, Chief Minister Gehlot said that the main objective of the scheme is to provide economic support to the farmers. An additional expenditure of Rs 1,450 crore will be incurred annually on this scheme.CM Gehlot stressed that the state government is determined to provide good quality electricity to the farmers. The Government is focusing on power distribution as well as production and transmission.The CM said that its network is being strengthened by developing new electric grids, lines and sub-stations all over Rajasthan. The formation of a new company to supply electricity to the agriculture sector is a step in this direction. Through this, it will be possible to provide sufficient energy to the farmers according to their demands. The target of providing daytime electricity to the farmers in all the districts will be completed soon.
